You can learn the carnatic vocal as below order. Varisaigal (10 weeks approx) Alankarams (10 weeks approx) Geethams (8 weeks approx) Swarajathis (8 weeks approx) Varnams (50 weeks for around 10 varnams) (Adi and Ata thala varnams) Krithis, The Songs (40 weeks for at-least 10 Krithis) read more

The most preferred Hindustani musicinstruments for Indian classical vocal music are Tanpura and Harmonium. While Tanpura provides just a base note, the harmonium has every note distinctively well defined in different pitches. Hence, the harmonium is the first pick for every new learner of vocal music
